Iowa State Board Committee Job Descriptions

State meet coordinator (we have co coordinator's right now.)

  1. Assist state meet director with any and all aspects that they may need help
    with.

  2. Double check time schedules, awards, and age groups to make sure they
    accurately reflect state boards recommendations.

Qualifying score tracker

  1. Keep up to date records for all kids competing in the USA JO program with
    regards to mobility scores and state qualifying scores.
  2. Work directly with state meet directors on eligibility issues for qualifiers.

Compulsory clinic director

  1. Gauge interest each year for a compulsory clinic in Iowa.
  2. Work on securing a host club for the event.
  3. Work with state board on itinerary,schedule,and clinicians.
  4. Be state board liaison to all participating clubs.
  5. Collect all monies and entries and organize them. Present them to board for
    approval.
  6. Attend clinic from start to finish to represent state board.

Secretary

  1. 1) Responsible for taking accurate notes of all board meetings, both in person
    and conference calls.
  2. Responsible to organize and distribute minutes of board meetings to all state
    board members.
  3. Responsible to amend and re distribute minutes to board members when
    necessary.
  4. After minutes have been approved by the board, get minutes to website
    coordinator to be published on website.

Website Coordinator

  1. Responsible to make sure all content on website is up to date and accurate.
  2. Responsible for the overall aesthetic look of the website.
  3. Responsible for content to make sure it is easily accessible and user
    friendly.

Expectations to be considered for state meet hosts.
1) Follow all rules and policies set forth in USAG rule book.
2) Meet director must be accessible at all times to state board.
3) Run a format that is most conducive to the athletes.
4) Have meals and drinks readily available for the coaches.
5) Have a quality sound system.
6) Have quality equipment and mats that meet or exceed rulebook.
7) Have responsible volunteers, preferably adults.
8) Make sure first aid is available. If you have a nurse, trainer, or doctor
available that would be a bonus.
9) Have adequate seating for spectators.
10) Have a photographer on hand.
11) Have state t shirts available. (Courtney Crandall of Success Gymnastics can
help if you do not know a vendor.)
12) Have a designated seating area for competitors.
13) Have a knowledgeable computer person.
14) Be efficient and correct with awards.
